Mmm... french fries, who doesn't love french fries! Growing up, my mother didn't fry foods and the only way I ever saw french fries being prepared was in restaurant style deep fryers. As such, I always thought french fries were difficult to make at home, unless you picked up a bag from the store that could be baked in the oven. As it turns out, and to my childrens' delight, homemade french fries are very easy to make. There are three key elements to this recipe: use yukon gold potatoes, cook in olive oil, and third but most important, salt the fries before you cook them, not afterwards.
